November has the feel and flavor of the Holidays, as people begin planning their Thanksgiving meals and saving up their dollars for Christmas shopping. The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up this time of year with the planning of the 16th Annual Christmas Stroll. This year’s theme is “Stroll the Wild West”, and button design winner Kailee Becking and her proud parents recently joined Mayor Dave Kinskey, Stroll Chairperson Judy Taylor and me for her award presentation in the City Council Chambers.
Stroll buttons were delivered this last weekend to participating businesses and are now on sale for $5.00. Get yours today and make plans to attend the Christmas Stroll, November 25, 4pm – 8pm in downtown Sheridan.
Also, before the frenzy of the season is in full swing, the Sheridan County Chamber, along with the City and County, would like to remind you that great experiences can be had when Buying Local. Many of the stores, restaurants and businesses in Sheridan are owned, managed and staffed by the people next door or across the street. When you buy local first, you help support your friends and neighbors, you strengthen relationships, you receive attentive and personalized service, and you can rest assured that a large part of your money spent here stays here.
Are you unsure of what to get your colleagues, friends or relatives this year? If so, consider giving Chamber Bucks. “Chamber Bucks” is a gift certificate program by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it encourages shopping locally. In addition to making great gifts, Chamber Bucks are terrific for employee recognition and incentive programs. Last year, over $35,000 in Chamber Bucks were issued. That money we know stayed in our community. Feel free to give us a call today for more information and to get those hard-to-buy-for’s checked off your list.
And again, as you formulate your Holiday plans, be sure to include coming downtown to “Stroll the Wild West.” Stroll buttons are available at a number of locations, as well as the Chamber of Commerce office. While shopping Sheridan, check to see if your button number matches that of the participating business. In addition to winning a terrific prize from that business, your name will be entered to win $1,000 in Chamber Bucks. Now that’s a Merry Christmas!
