Wyoming Population Growth No. 4 in Nation

People GroupWyoming’s population growth rate, measured from July 2011 to July 2012, ranked the 4th highest in the nation. Our growth rate of 1.1%, bringing the state’s population to over 576,000.

The only states with higher growth rates in that time period were North Dakota (2.2%), Washington, D.C. (2.1%), and Texas (1.7%).

 A senior economist with the Wyoming Economic Analysis Divisions adds, “People tend to move to areas where economies are viable, which is particularly true for Wyoming.” Click here for the full news release as it appeared in the Wyoming Business Report.
