Richard Garber Honored As Statewide Chamber Board Member of the Year
The award was announced Sept. 20 during the State Chamber’s Fall Conference, but Garber was unable to attend. He was recognized at the Sheridan County Chamber Lunch on Oct. 10.
Garber, a resident of Big Horn, has served on the Sheridan County Chamber board since 2012 and has been vice president, president and past president of the board. He also has served as chair of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee.
“Richard by far has been one of the Chamber’s strongest advocates in our community,” stated Dixie Johnson, CEO of the Chamber. “He has been the first person to volunteer for anything and everything, and I know of no other person who is a stronger proponent and believer in the value of a Chamber of Commerce in a community.”’
Garber will complete his final term as a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors at the end of this year.
“He will be missed,” said Johnson. “He is the first person to offer ideas that strengthen our organization’s value, as well as step up whenever we need assistance. I know, however, that he will continue to serve the Chamber for as long as we need him.”
