Join our Fun Department team and know your work is making a positive difference in the lives of others! The Hub…on Smith has an Assistant of Fun position available working in the Fun (Activities) Department.

This position works 25 standard hours per week. Rate of pay is $12.00 per hour. Benefit offerings include Wyoming Retirement, Delta Dental, VSP Vision and 3 Aflac plans – Accident, Cancer & Short term Disability…plus, reduced cost staff meals on days worked.

This fun and exciting position helps to plan and coordinate activities that are recreational, educational &/or related to preventative health care.

Interested persons should have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must have a current drivers’ license and safe driving record. This is a physically demanding job which includes but is not limited to the ability to lead outdoor activities such as hiking for distances.

POSITION: Assistant of Fun
LOCATION: 211 Smith Street
Sheridan, WY 82801
REPORTS TO: Director of Fun

Functions Include:
 Assist the Director of Fun in the following responsibilities:
a. Planning and coordinating activities that are recreational, educational &/or related to preventative health, including excursions, develop social activities and coordinate workshops relating to arts and crafts
b. Helps to distribute publicity for activities via email and flyers
c. Maintains a festive environment in the Center’s dining room (Café)
d. Works closely with Director of Volunteer Services to recruit, train and schedule volunteers as needed
e. Utilizes and works with Volunteers for specific projects as needed
f. Works with Kitchen Manager in planning and ordering grocery items as needed
g. Prepares food items for excursions and other meals as necessary
 Oversees Craft Class and organization of Art Studio Areas
 Occasionally assists w/convivium during Café meal time
 May lead exercise classes from time to time
 Communicates and works with a wide variety of community members in a respectful, positive manner
 Reports customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction to supervisor
 Orders and purchases supplies as necessary
 Periodically required to travel utilizing personal vehicle
 May drive company vehicle for day trips
 Completes orientation and ongoing training as directed
 Maintains confidentiality
 Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
 Hiking and outdoor activities requires ability to walk for distances under strenuous conditions
 Frequently transfers, lifts, carries and positions objects
 Frequently communicates and exchanges information with others
 May be required to sit at a computer station for extended periods of time in order to
complete essential job functions

 Strong organizational skills
 Computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office software
 Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing
 Food Service Skills helpful
 Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
 Ability to complete Transportation Safety Institute Training, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Drug & Alcohol Training, and Blood Borne Pathogens Training
 Employment dependent on ability to pass a Central Registry and Division of Criminal
Investigations background check

Minimum Qualifications:
 Possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent
 Have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
 Experience working with the public, older adults or people with disabilities preferred
