Loan Closet Specialist
Join our Family Caregiver Services team and know your work is making a positive difference in the lives of others! The Hub…on Smith has a Loan Closet Specialist position available working in the Family Caregiver Program (FCG).
This position works 20 standard hours per week. Rate of pay is $10.00 per hour. Reduced cost staff meals on days worked.
Maintains the Loan Closet in an orderly fashion and assists clients to identify their specific needs and check out equipment following the Loan Closet policy. Will provide administrative support, if needed to the Director of the Family Caregiver Program.
Essential Job Functions Include:
Provides day to day support to the Loan Closet, insuring compliance with the provisions as outlined in the
Policy governing Loan Closet
Insures that all Loan Closet areas are maintained in an orderly fashion
Maintains records for all loans of equipment, insuring timely and accurate documentation of the loan
Greets and assists clients in identifying their specific equipment needs, to the fullest extent possible
Visits with donors of equipment, whenever possible, to insure that equipment being donated meets the
requirements as outlined in the Policy
Insures that equipment is cleaned and maintained prior to going into storage
Assists in the transportation of equipment from one storage area to another, as the need arises
Provide the FCG Director with input, recommendations and/or suggestions regarding the workload, flow,
and operations of the program as requested
May provide administrative support to the Director of the Family Caregiver Program
Other duties as assigned
Requires lifting, carrying and transporting of medical equipment. Must use judgement when equipment
weight requires two or more individuals to move equipment
Requires moving and/or retrieval of equipment from basement, physically separate storage location or to
and from privately owned vehicles
May be required to drive to outlying storage area, including in inclement weather
May sit at a computer station for extended periods of time in order to enter data
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing to clients, professional staff and the public
concerning program functions
Must possess ability to multi-function during somewhat stressful and trying situations
Must be able to prioritize and manage time in order to insure quality service to the clients or their
Must be detail oriented, insuring timely and accurate documentation of job functions
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Computer skills important, including Microsoft Office programs
Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
Have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and possess a vehicle to be used to transport equipment
Ability to lift, carry, transfer and position loads, unassisted up to 50 pounds
