CURRENT ART EXHIBITS
On the Sidewalks of Downtown Sheridan – Over 70 unique sculptures, from Indian maidens to lion cubs to a rhinoceros, located all around downtown Sheridan and beyond – over 50 of these are permanent pieces, and another 20 are on loan from the artist (and for sale) – under the watchful care of the Sheridan Public Arts Committee, (307) 752-1603.
Sagebrush Community Art Center – “East Meets West” – paintings by local artist Sonja Caywood and NYC artist Jamie Barron, featuring a common theme in two artistic styles. Sonja looks landscape vestiges of “the west” that are disappearing, and Jamie uses familiar icons from everyday life such as barns, cows and horses, but changing them just so subtly to make one stop and look – thru November 16 – at the Sagebrush Community Art Center in the Historic Train Depot, 201 E. 5th St., (307) 674-1970.
Sagebrush Community Art Center – Members’ Sales Gallery – works of local members of the Sheridan Artists’ Guild, Et al (SAGE) – paintings, drawings, glasswork, woodwork, ceramics, and fiber arts – thru the summer – at the Sagebrush Community Art Center in the Historic Train Depot, 201 E. 5th St., (307) 674-1970. Student drawings from Kathy Sabine’s portrait class are displayed in the hallway leading to the Members’ Sales Gallery.
Sagebrush Community Art Center – Western photography by Arthur Dailey (1893-1973) and his daughter, Mary Dailey – on permanent display – upstairs in the Historic Train Depot, 201 E. 5th St., (307) 674-1970.
SAGE Exhibit Gallery – “Photography From Wyoming to Alaska” – by local photographers Roger Appell and Justin Sheeley – thru October 30 – at the SAGE Exhibit Gallery inside Sheridan College Main Street, 171 N. Main St., (307) 674-6446.
Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library – Fiber Arts Show – Annual display of fiber art by local artisans – thru October 30 – at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library mezzanine, 335 W. Alger St., (307) 674-8585 Ext 29.
Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library – “Balance and Texture” – paintings by local artist Tom Randazzo – thru October 31 – at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library, Inner Circle, 335 W. Alger St., (307) 674-8585 Ext 29.
COMING: Sheridan College’s Martinsen Gallery – “For Love of Photography: from Analog to Instagram, and Places in Between” – a collection of photography by local artist Misty Bateman, using a wide variety of cameras and covering a wide range of subjects – October 15 thru November 26 – at Sheridan College’s Whitney Academic Center, 3059 Coffeen Ave, (307) 674-6446 Ext 2850.
The Brinton Museum – “About 6×6″ – miniature artwork (approximately 6″x6″ in size) from 130 artists – thru October 31 – The Brinton Museum, 239 Brinton Road in Big Horn, WY, (307) 672-3173. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, children 12 and under free, which includes admission to all gallery exhibits and a tour of the historic ranch home with its own exquisite Western art.

Events and activities to be listed ~
1. Must be held in Sheridan County and open to the public
2. Must not be business “events” that are part of the normal course of business (e.g., no store sales)
3. If a political or religious event, must be reviewed by the Calendar Committee before inclusion.
When submitting an entry, include ~
1. Event name, date, start/end time, and location
2. 1-2 sentence/phrase event description
3. Text only (no images or logos)
4. Cost, if applicable
4. Contact name and information, e.g., phone, website, email address
Events will be posted daily within 3 business days of receipt, at no cost to the submitting entities.
The Calendar Committee reserves the right to edit or exclude any listing.
Permission from the Calendar Committee is required for use of this calendar on any other website. The Committee also reserves the right to deny or take away permission to use the website calendar for anything it deems to be misuse or unacceptable application.
