Lessons Learned from Coach Don Meyer
From the very beginning of the Chamber’s “Servant Leadership” training last week, the workshop leader Coach Don Meyer captivated the audience with his straight-forward, honest, and humble presentation.
His first directives to the group of 20 participants: (a) everyone needs to take notes, (b) everyone needs to be courteous, and (c) always pick up your trash. Simple, yet profound, just like the coach himself.
He shared his instructions and anecdotes on how to succeed in business – including team building strategies, characteristics of leadership, and tips to identify the different types of leaders, plus much more. His overall summary comment to the group: “Our example is not one of the things influencing others – IT IS THE ONLY THING.” And his concluding words: “Do the next right thing right.”
We’re already looking forward to his next trip to Sheridan.
