Fall Festival in Story
5:00-7:00 pm
Story Elementary School, 103 Fish Hatchery Road in Story
Fall festival for the whole family. Family photos, cakewalk, family activities and games. Special event is the chili cookoff ($25 entry), a fundraiser to help purchase gym equipment for the school. Kendrick Park
13th Annual Pet Costume Contest at the Kendrick Park band shell. Bring your costumed pet and compete for prizes in three categories — Scariest, Most Creative, and Funniest. Treats for all entries. Entry fee is $5 per pet, with proceeds to benefit the Dog & Cat Shelter. Also enter the raffle for many other prizes. Music and fun for the whole family. Bring dog or cat food, which will be shared with people who are struggling to afford feeding their pets. Sheridan Jaycees Downtown Halloween Parade

Meet on Grinnell Plaza in Historic Downtown Sheridan
The Sheridan Jaycees will be taking the kids trick or treating to the downtown businesses. So be sure to wear your costume – and maybe get a prize in the costume contest too. Big Horn Mountain Eagles Children’s Halloween Party

Trunk-or-Treat Halloween in Dayton

Family Fall Fun Fest

Trick or Treating at The Powder Horn

Powder Horn Golf Community
Come to the Powder Horn for your trick or treating! Definitely wear your costume. Meet at the Powder Horn Clubhouse to catch one of the Sheridan Trolleys, to take you to designated homes in the community for trick or treating. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Halloween Candy Buy-Back
10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Bighorn Pediatric Dentistry, 531 Coffeen Ave.
Bring in your extra Halloween candy! We’ll buy back your unopened candy ($1 per pound, maximum 5 pounds). Then we’ll send all of the candy to Operation Gratitude, an organization that will make individual holiday packages for our troops and ship them overseas to our soldiers stationed in war zones. Zombie Movie & Costume Contest

Get yourself in the mood for the CHAPS Zombie 5K later in the afternoon! Showing a zombie (Halloween) movie – likely to be R rated – and a costume contest. So come in costume if you can – prizes will be awarded. Zombie makeup also available (after the film) for those who don’t have their own. Families also have the option to just come at 12:45 pm to participate in the makeup booth and costume contest. No charge to attend. For more information, call the library at (307) 674-8585 Ext 29

CHAPS Zombie 5K Walk/Run & “Nightmare on Grinnell Street” After-Party
(rescheduled from October 5)
2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Start and end on Grinnell Plaza
5K walk/run through zombie obstacles, on a route through downtown Sheridan. “Just follow the blood splatter – keep your wits – migrate to the less populated areas – use your head!” Enter as either a walker/runner OR as a zombie. Then join in the “Nightmare on Grinnell Street” after-party and awards. $25 in advance for human entries ($30 at the event). $20 for zombie entries ($30 at the event). Must be age 12 or older. Awards given for the zombie securing the most lives, the best zombie, the first female runner back with at least one life, and the first male runner back with at least one life. For those not participating in the race, you can still come to watch AND come to the party (3:00-6:00 pm); donations will be appreciated.
