Community Partner Spotlight: Advanced Communications Technology (ACT)
Today’s world is moving at the speed of light, sometimes making it almost impossible to keep up. Whether you’re using the web to market your products and services or connecting multiple locations on a single network, you need a pipe. As applications and uses change and grow, so does the need for bandwidth. Not more than ten years ago, people patiently waited for their dial-up connections to connect to the world, but today our needs are far more immediate.
Our Chamber Community Partner Advanced Communications Technology (ACT) realizes that needs have changed and more and more bandwidth is required to compete in today’s global economy. That’s why the business has invested in the Sheridan community to better serve its customers with a solid, core fiber network allowing ACT to provide the latest in communications technology. Ultimately, ACT doesn’t want Sheridan and its businesses to suffer or fall behind because they do not have a fast enough connection to the world or access to those next generation services they require.
Not only is ACT investing locally in Sheridan, it continues to grow its long-haul fiber network throughout Wyoming to provide faster and more reliable connections to the Internet. Connecting communities is a major focus, of which ACT takes great pride. More routes to the Internet mean better speeds and redundancy. Therefore, this summer, ACT will be expanding its existing network that currently covers most of Northern Wyoming and Southeast Montana to include a route from Casper to the Wyoming/Colorado border (see on map at right) — ultimately improving its backbone and providing the best Internet solution for the communities ACT serves.
ACT believes its customers should enjoy the same technology as their counterparts living in larger towns and cities. From day one, ACT has been committed to delivering communication solutions to strengthen Sheridan businesses, promote state-wide economic development and improve the quality of life in all the communities they touch.
