Learn More About Your General Election Candidates at Next Week’s Candidate Forums

The Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee is hosting Candidate Forums for the general election candidates on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 24 and 25, at 6 p.m. at the WYO Theater.

The forums provide an opportunity for those running in contested races for elected office in the Nov. 5, 2024, general election to share information about themselves and their platforms. Each candidate will give a brief introduction, followed by a Q&A period and a closing statement.   On Sept. 24, the forum will host school board candidates for Sheridan County School Districts 1, 2 and 3. The order of appearance and candidates confirming attendance are Dusty Hackett and Georgia Hackett (SCSD #3); Justin Kidneigh, Morgan (Barker) Stalick and Nicholas Zent (SCSD #1); and Ed Fessler, Anthony Lecholat, Doug Moore, Shane Rader, Jeff Tomlinson and Dana Wyatt (SCSD #2). The Sept. 25 forum will host candidates for United States Senator, United States Representative, State Representative – District #29, County Commissioners, Town of Dayton Councilmember, Town of Ranchester Councilmember, City of Sheridan Mayor and City of Sheridan Councilmember.

Candidates confirming attendance and the order of appearance for the Sept. 25 forum are Scott D. Morrow (U.S. Senator); Kyle G. Cameron (U.S. Representative); Ken Pendergraft and Martha Wright (State Representative 29); Sydnee Alyster and Michael R. Arzy (County Commissioners); Robert Alley and Keith Reichert (Town of Dayton Councilmember); Bryan Helferich and Bill Henderson (Town of Ranchester Councilmember); Rich Bridger (City of Sheridan Mayor); and Steve Brantz, Bev Leichtnam, Scott Van Dorsten and Jack Wood (City of Sheridan Councilmember). Questions for the candidates may be submitted in advance to the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee for the committee’s consideration. The deadline to submit questions is 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23. Questions should be emailed to kmyers@sheridanwyomingchamber.org or delivered to the Chamber office at 54 S. Main St. in Sheridan.

All questions will be asked by the moderator. Due to time limitations, no direct questions from the audience will be allowed.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The forum will be livestreamed on the Chamber’s YouTube Channel as well as recorded. The recording will be available within 48 hours on the Chamber’s YouTube channel and website, sheridanwyomingchamber.org.
