SHERIDAN COLLEGE INNOVATION CENTER
The Chamber celebrated the grand opening of Sheridan College’s new Innovation Center with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024. The 28,000 sq. ft. space will support students and community members who are pursuing career opportunities in manufacturing or construction trades and also includes a new Manufacturing Incubator. The original facility was gifted to the college by the Seven Pillars Foundation in 2019, and Whitney Benefits provided assistance with completion of the facility. HOLY NAME CATHOLIC SCHOOL STREAM DESIGNATION
The Chamber celebrated Holy Name Catholic School’s recent STREAM designation with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024. A STREAM school uses STREAM education, an approach to teaching that integrates science, technology, reading, engineering, art and math. STREAM is an expansion of the traditional STEM curriculum, which includes science, technology, engineering and math. STREAM adds reading and writing to STEM, and some schools, such as Holy Name, also incorporate religion into their STREAM curriculum. RAMADA PLAZA
The Chamber welcomed the new owners of the Ramada Plaza in Sheridan with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024. Tara and Shinyoung Gautam purchased the Ramada earlier this year. Since that time, the couple has been making improvements and remodeling the 14,000 square foot hotel and convention center that includes several meeting and event spaces to accommodate a variety of needs.
