Time for Businesses to Register for Christmas Stroll

It’s now time for businesses to register to participate in the 28th Annual Sheridan Christmas Stroll, “Candy Cane Christmas Stroll.” Registrations must be submitted by Friday, Oct. 20, to be included in all event marketing.

Registration packets are available at the Chamber Office, 54 S. Main St., and on the Chamber’s website at sheridanwyomingchamber.org.

The 2023 Christmas Stroll will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023. Main Street and Grinnell Plaza will close from 4 to 8 p.m. and feature traditional festivities. Fireworks will conclude the evening at 8 p.m.

Stroll button holders will again be able to begin searching for their matching button number Stroll Day and through Christmas Eve. Get Caught Shopping and the People’s Choice Lighting and Decorating Contest will begin Stroll Day as well. Santa and Mrs. Claus will fly down from the North Pole to visit with children. A complete schedule will be available closer to the event on the Chamber website, www.sheridanwyomingchamber.org.

Sheridan, Johnson County Manufacturers to Host Public Tours for National Manufacturing Day Oct. 6

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Business Retention & Expansion Committee, in partnership with Manufacturing Works, will celebrate national Manufacturing Day Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, with free public tours of local manufacturers.

Known as “MFG Day,” Manufacturing Day is an annual national event to showcase modern manufacturing technology and to help shape people’s perceptions about today’s manufacturing environment. The annual celebration is an opportunity to draw attention to the outstanding opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide. Over the next decade, four million manufacturing jobs will need to be filled in the U.S.

Ten businesses in Sheridan and Johnson counties will open their doors to the public and provide free tours and demonstrations.

“Manufacturing Day is the biggest annual opportunity to inspire the next generation of creators and show them that modern manufacturing is a vibrant and growing industry that offers diverse, high-paying career opportunities,” said Dixie Johnson, chief executive officer of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. “The celebration also allows us to highlight the innovative work local companies are doing. Our hope is that these events inspire the next generation of workforce talent to pursue a rewarding career in manufacturing.”

Today’s Fremont Toyota Suds n’ Spurs Brewfest to Feature 29 Professional Craft Brewers

SHERIDAN, WY (AUG. 26, 2023) — Today’s Fremont Toyota Suds n’ Spurs Brewfest will feature 29 professional craft brewers serving up samples from 2 to 7 p.m. at Whitney Commons Park in Sheridan. The offerings include traditional craft brews, non-alcoholic craft brews, hard teas and hard seltzers.

Ticket holders can sample the craft beers and then vote for their favorite brewery to take home the coveted People’s Choice Spur Award, crafted by Tom Balding Bits and Spurs. In addition, brewers will compete in a professionally judged competition, with the winner also taking home a Spur Award.

For the second year, 2 Basset Brewery from White Sulphur Springs, Montana, won the People’s Choice Award for Best Brewery.

This year’s Brewfest will feature live music by the band Sidetrack, who will play classic rock and country hits. Food vendors include Curds of Wyoming, Melt the West and Schwein BBQ.

Returning for the second year is the Beer Relay, where teams of four people will compete to see who can navigate a challenging race course while carrying a mug of beer. The Beer Relay begins at 3 p.m.

Team AlphaGraphics was the 2022 Beer Relay winner. Can they hold on to the title this year?

A drawing will be held at the end of the event for a YETI Roadie 48 wheeled cooler, donated by Rocky Mountain Discount Sports, and two cases of beer from Black Tooth Brewing Co. Tickets for the drawing may be purchased in advance at the Chamber office, 54 S. Main St., or at the Brewfest.


Admission for the Fremont Toyota Suds n’ Spurs Brewfest is $40. Admission is free for those not partaking.
