TONGUE RIVER VALLEY VETERANS MEMORIAL

The Chamber Ambassadors and members of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee celebrated the installation of the Tongue River Valley Veterans Memorial at Tongue River Middle School with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, as part of the Government Affairs Committee meeting. During the 2020-21 school year eighth grade students created the vision of the memorial to show appreciation to the nation’s veterans and honor their sacrifices. The memorial includes a wall, statue, flags and a walkway and QR codes that take visitors to veteran biographies and thank-you videos created by students. The students, now sophomores in high school, also raised the $250,000 in funds needed for the memorial. The project is ongoing, and donations are still being accepted for additional enhancements and maintenance. For more information about the memorial and to donate, visit https://trveteransmemorial.stu.sheridan1.org/home or call (307) 655-9541.
