‘Get Your Paws on Some Chamber Bucks’ giveaway to increase to $500 in Chamber Bucks each week

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that thanks to a generous donation from First Federal Bank & Trust, their volunteers will be handing out an additional $400 in Chamber Bucks each week for the “Get Your Paws on Some Chamber Bucks” giveaway.

The giveaway is part of the Sheridan Main Street Resurfacing and Utility Upgrade Project “Bear with Us” campaign.

This donation means a total of $500 in Chamber Bucks will be given away each week to people “caught supporting” local businesses within the active construction zone.

The “Get Your Paws on Some Chamber Bucks” giveaway is a partnership of the Chamber, Downtown Sheridan Association and the City of Sheridan. It began during last year’s Main Street Project to encourage and reward folks for frequenting the businesses on Main Street affected by the street closure. Over the course of the two-year project, the City of Sheridan will have provided $4,600 for the Chamber to give away $100 in Chamber Bucks each week.

Chamber volunteers have been out each week looking for someone supporting the businesses within the project zone to reward them with $100 in Chamber Bucks. From June 1 through July 31, they’ll be looking for five recipients every week – each receiving $100 in Chamber Bucks.

“As Sheridan’s only mutual bank since 1935, we strive to help local businesses succeed to ensure the future viability of our community,” said Kevin Bailey, president and CEO of First Federal Bank & Trust.

“We’re immensely grateful to First Federal Bank & Trust for their generous support of this campaign and our local businesses,” said Jodi Hartley, Chamber marketing and communications director. “We hope that these additional funds will be even more incentive for people to visit and support the businesses impacted by the project.”

Chamber Bucks is an actual check issued on a Chamber of Commerce account to be used just like a personal check or cash. They can be used as payment at most Sheridan County businesses and  keep dollars in our community. In 2023 the Chamber issued $212,883 in Chamber Bucks.
